Tips to cook delicious rice WITH or WITHOUT a rice cooker

Rinse rice

Rinse lightly with plenty of water for the first time and quickly discard the water. The second time, wash with just enough water to cover the rice, gently stirring. Repeat 3~4 times until the water appears slightly clear.

If you cook rinse-free rice, there is no need to rinse rice.

②Add water

After discarding the rinse water, add water with the golden rule rice-to-water ratio of 1 to 1.2. For example, 180 ml of rice needs 200 ml of water.

In the case of new rice, you should put a bit less water in it so the rice will not be too soft and sticky. Do reversely in the case of old rice.

③Soak rice

It is important to soak rice for about 35 minutes in the summer or 2 hours in the winter. After rice absorbs water, it will become softer and tastier after being cooked.

④Cook

Switch on the rice cooker.

If you don’t have a rice cooker, you can use a heavy-bottom pot. Boil the rice over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for approximately 12 minutes. Keep the lid on until the rice is cooked.

⑤Steam, fluff, and scoop

After the cooking process is complete, leave the rice to steam for 15 minutes, then use a rice paddle to gently fluff and scoop rice from the bottom of the pot. Delicious rice is now ready

⑥Enjoy your favorite meal

Your delicious rice is now ready to be enjoyed. Pair it with your favorite side dishes for a truly delightful meal
