About Japanese rice

How to preserve rice properly

How and where to store

The best way to keep rice fresh is to store it in an airtight container.

It is better to use a transparent container to easily observe the rice without opening it.

Store in a cool, dark, well-ventilated place and avoid areas around refrigerators and microwave ovens, which dissipate heat.

Odors prevention

Do not store rice near detergent, kerosene, or raw food as it tends to absorb odors easily.

Bugs prevention

In rare cases, bugs may spawn because of a poor storage environment, so containers should be cleaned frequently.

Mold Prevention

A wet environment can make rice moldy, so you should wash containers after the rice is used up and dry them well before filling them with new rice.
