Japanese rice promotion in Vancouver

Ricefriend is dedicated to sharing the exceptional taste of Japanese rice with the world, and this activity marks our first promotional activity overseas.

The location was Vancouver, Canada, a picturesque harbor city renowned for its multiculturalism and vibrant immigrant community. We cooperated with a local Japanese supermarket in the city and carried out tasting promotion activities to introduce the authentic flavors of Japanese rice to the residents.

Many customers were delighted and said that the rice was delicious, with big smiles on their faces. Others, though a bit shy, bought the rice immediately after tasting it, saying “I’ll buy some!” Some even asked, “By the way, how do you cook rice so well?” It was heartwarming to see how much they enjoyed the experience, even those who had never tasted Japanese rice before but decided to purchase it simply because it was so delicious. This reinforced for us how crucial it is to provide people with the opportunity to experience the flavor of good rice firsthand.

While competition in the market remains intense, the export volume of Japanese rice continues to grow year by year. This growth comes with the increasing number of Japanese restaurants abroad and a rising awareness of the taste and quality of Japanese rice among local people.  Additionally, we took the opportunity to meet with regional importers and Japanese restaurant operators, participating in business discussions to explore potential partnerships and expand the reach of Japanese rice in the area.

We believe that it was a meaningful chance that we could speak directly with people who had only had a vague image of Japanese rice until then. This visit and promotional activities are our opportunity to further promote the appeal of Japanese rice in the future, sharing its value with even more people around the world.
