Hands-on Training: Weeding

Following our recent rice planting training, in July our team returned to the fields for the next important step – grass removal.

In organic rice cultivation, weeding is a crucial task to ensure that the rice plants can grow strong and healthy. Our staff worked together to experience firsthand how much care and effort go into producing each grain of rice.  It’s hard work, but also a valuable experience that deepens our respect for the farmers who dedicate themselves to every grain.

This time, we’d like to share a thought from one of our staff members who joined the training:

“During this training, I learned the importance of weeding. I experienced how mowing weeds around rice plants suppresses the emergence of pests, prevents damage from insects such as stink bugs, and promotes healthy rice growth. Considering that weeds thrive and rob rice of water and nutrients, and block sunlight and ventilation, I realized that weeding is essential.

However, considering how difficult weeding is in the summer, I learned about the hardships that producers face. I will use this experience to be mindful of not spilling rice when performing production work and will work hard every day while keeping producers in mind.” By: Matoba, Production Department
Through this hands-on training, we continue to deepen our understanding of rice cultivation and strengthen our commitment to delivering rice that carries both quality and sincerity from the field to our customers.
